Well first off the directions suck. They do however give you the general idea. Some parts had extra holes (pics below) that are not necessary and yes I put it together correctly.

Like all plastics, the has lots of bits to trim and file

There are substantial gaps in some the model but nothing that green stuff won't fix.

 It actually turned out to be pretty sturdy when put together.
